Founded in 1990, the Seattle Preschool at Seattle Gymnastics Academy in Lake City (north Seattle) has consistently offered a unique combination of academic and movement opportunities. Seattle Preschool creates a learning environment through both play and instruction. Every day includes an hour of gymnastics or dance in the adjacent 12,500 square foot progressive gymnastics facility. Drop by for a visit or an interview; classes run M - F, 9:00am to 1:00pm and 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Seattle Gymnastics is open from 9:00am to 8:00pm.

The Seattle Preschool, at SGA, is committed to providing an environment that stimulates creativity, inventiveness and self-awareness through theme explorations. Thematic units are designed to integrate a variety of skills. This includes reading books together, artistic expression, making observations using our senses, making predictions, patterning and sequencing, and developing basic Pre-K skills. Many activities have an open, flexible format. This ensures successful involvement from children of varying ages, fostering children's continued eagerness to learn.
At the Seattle Preschool, our goal is to nurture each child's social, emotional, educational, and physical development in a safe and caring environment. Our low adult-child ratio (max 8:1) allows consistent, intimate interaction. We encourage self-expression, social awareness, and a positive self-concept through stimulating activities and learning opportunities in the world around us. Learning/Discovery Centers provide direct, hands on activities through the creative learning process. We encourage independent decision-making, as well as group cooperation and sharing.
Seattle Preschool offers both morning and afternoon preschool programs. The morning class is held from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and the afternoon class is from 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM. Both include an hour of gymnastics or dance.

We provide a save, fun and educational environment. The staff keep up on new discoveries and education in Early Childhood Development by attending classes and seminars. Our lead teacher and Director, Julie Silverstein has 12 years experience teaching Preschool, with certifications in Early Childhood Education plus extensive experience in early childhood movement education through operating her own studio. She also worked at the Point Arena Little School in 1999. She served for two years in Americorps until recently moving to Washington. Her assistant, Katie Nutt, is in her second year at Seattle Preschool and is also an experienced instructor from our gymnastics program.
